Biography
Gerard H. Toner is an associate at Garfunkel Wild & Travis and is a member of the firms Finance and Real Estate Practice Group.
Mr. Toner has considerable experience in the acquisition and disposition of real property in residential and commercial areas, including condominiums and cooperatives. In addition Mr. Toner has represented Landlords and Tenants in retail and office rental space matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Toner, had his own practice specializing in Real Estate and Trusts and Estates in Garden City and Babylon, NY. He is the former Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Doubleday and Company, Inc. During his 21 years at Doubleday Mr. Toner was involved with the acquisition and sale of the NY Mets and served as a Director, Vice President and General Counsel of Doubleday Sports Inc. He also served as Chief Counsel in the asset sale of Doubleday and Company, Inc.
His other business background includes the Long Island Electrical Industry as owner of a specialty electrical company and as Vice President of the National Electrical Contractors Association and Member of the Joint Electrical Industry Board of Local 25 IBEW.
Mr. Toner received his B.B.A. from St. John’s University in 1967, majoring in Public Accounting and his J.D. from St. John’s University in 1972.
