Biography
Laurie Borgerding Johnson is a Senior Attorney at Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., which she joined in 2001. A member of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group, Ms. Johnson advises clients on all aspects of federal and state trial and appellate matters, arbitration and administrative agency matters.
Ms. Johnson’s practice includes litigation for hospitals, physicians, managed care companies and other health industry clients. She has particular expertise in discovery issues in multi-million dollar litigations.
Ms. Johnson has worked extensively on mental hygiene, medical treatment and guardianship matters for large and small hospital and health system clients.
Prior to joining Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., Ms. Johnson practiced admiralty and environmental law at Watson, Farley & Williams and later at Kavanagh Maloney & Osnato.
While attending law school, Ms. Johnson worked as a consultant for Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she was the tobacco litigation consultant assisting the tobacco and beverages analyst.
After graduating from college, Ms. Johnson worked for Patrick Engineering Inc. as an engineering planner in their waste management area, where she developed recycling and solid waste plans and education material.
Ms. Johnson received her B.S. from DePaul University in 1993 and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1998. |
