Biography
Marianne Monroy joined Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C. as an associate in 2001 and is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group. She represents clients on all aspects of federal and state trial and appellate matters.
Ms. Monroy has particular expertise in the area of labor and employment law, and counsels clients concerning compliance with state and federal wage, safety, overtime, discrimination and environmental laws.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Monroy practiced land use and environmental law, representing both private and municipal corporations in connection with real estate development applications, zoning and land use planning matters.
Ms. Monroy was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1998, the New Jersey State Bar in 1997, and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
Ms. Monroy received her B.A., cum laude, from Brooklyn College in 1994, and her J.D., cum laude, and Environmental Law Certificate from Pace University Law School in 1997. |
