Biography
Peter Egan is a Partner at Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., which he joined in 2001. He is a member of the firm’s Business, Health Care and Tax Practice Groups, which advise clients on a variety of business, regulatory and transactional matters.
Mr. Egan’s practice includes routine and complex business transactions, as well as regulatory and tax analysis for physician practices and hospitals. He has particular expertise in structuring joint ventures, the sale of physician practices and advising diagnostic and treatment centers.
He assisted in forming a large physician practice to provide technical and professional hyperbaric services and structuring a joint venture between a physician practice and a large metropolitan area health care system to provide occupational health services.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Egan worked as a consultant in Ernst & Young's Health Care Group, where he focused on identifying and addressing financial and corporate structure issues facing the area’s health care providers. In this position, he helped advise a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurs to large health care systems.
Mr. Egan is a member of the New York State, Connecticut and Nassau County Bar Associations. He is a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Health Law Section and also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Hospital and Health Law Committee.
Mr. Egan received his B.A. from Columbia University in 1994 and his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1998.
