Biography
Rebecca A. Edelman Levy joined Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C. as an associate in 2004. Her practice includes the representation of various health care clients in corporate structuring and/or restructuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and employment arrangements. In addition, Ms. Levy participates in the representation of physicians facing disciplinary charges before the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners and handles both special and full guardianship proceedings on behalf of hospital clients. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Levy counseled hospitals, nursing homes and health care practitioners on a wide variety of health care law matters, which included the drafting of hospital and medical staff by-laws and the successful representation of various health care facilities in appealing findings of deficiencies by both the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, as well as the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Ms. Levy is the author of "Consider Yourself Warned: Accutane Prescribers, Not the Manufacturer, May be Held Liable in Accutane Litigation," Cosmetic Dermatology, July, 2002.
Ms. Levy received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1998, and her J.D., with a Certified Concentration in Health Law, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2001. Ms. Levy is admitted to the bar in both New Jersey and New York. |
