Biography
Stuart Hochron is Of Counsel at Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., which he joined in 2005. He is a member of the firm’s Health Care Group, which group advises clients on a host of business, regulatory, and transactional matters.
Dr. Hochron’s practice includes representation of physicians and other health care providers in all matters related to their fields of practice, including regulatory medical board inquiries and investigations (licensure matters), hospital medical staff matters, hospital peer review matters, the creation of ambulatory surgical centers and other medically related businesses, practice formation, agreements with new associates and the transfer of medical practices.
Dr. Hochron is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he is co-director of “Medicine and the Law”, a required second year course, and also regularly participates in clinical teaching programs such as “Introduction to Clinical Practice” and “Physical Diagnosis”. He is also a guest lecturer in health law at Rutgers Law School.
Dr. Hochron has represented hundreds of physicians, podiatrists, nurses, and therapists throughout New Jersey. He has served as a Board member of the Middlesex County Medical Society, as a hospital representative to the American Medical Association, and has served on or chaired numerous hospital medical staff committees. Prior to joining GWT, he was a founding partner in a New Jersey health law practice which specialized in representing medical providers. Dr. Hochron practices internal medicine and pulmonary medicine in a multi-specialty group practice in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Dr. Hochron received his B.S from Wagner College, his M.D. from New York Medical College, and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School.
